Steamship S/S Orion
In the heart of Stockholm, located at Skeppsholmen, lies S/S Orion, which is an old staff vessel that was the property of The Swedish Royal Pilot Service.
Today work is in full progress to restore this ship.
The steamliner was used as a inspection and work vessel of the Royal Pilot Work during the years 1929-1956. They inspected lightships and pilot places, preformed hydrography and worked with boys and dots.
S/S Orion is unique since it still got most of its original interior conserved. In the engine room you will find the original boiler and seven steam engines.
