S/S Orion is committed to combining the preservation of our maritime cultural heritage with long-term environmental responsibility. As part of the project, we have invested in an electric vehicle for transporting materials, tools, and equipment. The vehicle is also used for travel to Ekerö, where our sailing activities are conducted, helping to reduce emissions and improve operational efficiency.

For the future operation of S/S Orion, our goal is to use environmentally adapted coal as fuel. With support from a company collaborating with the project, conditions are being created for a more sustainable steamship operation while preserving the vessel’s historic character.
